C25K: Week 1, Day 1 (again)

Didn't hurt as bad as it did the first time, but it was MUCH harder cardio-wise.  After the third 60-second run, I honestly didn't think I was going to be able to finish.  But I soldiered on!  Now if I can just do Day 2 on Friday, then maybe--just maybe--I might get a habit formed.  EEP.

Time: 31 minutes
Distance: 1.7 miles

Er ... I'm back ... again?

I know, it's been a week.  I was sick, I swear.  Ask anyone who lives near me: I'm sure they could hear my incessant childlike whining from a mile away.  (Not a good sickie.  I get wimpy.)

But I'm (mostly) better now, and so I'm going to start the C25K all over.  And this time, I'm going to make it to Day 2!!  (haha)

C25K, Week 1 Day 1

YEOWCH.

Um, yeah, that was HARD.  But I finished it, and that counts for something, right?

I want to try to tweak my weeks, though, so that I'm working out on Tue-Thur-Sat instead of Wed-Fri-Sun like it would be now.  So I think I'm going to skip Friday, go Saturday, and then start Week 1 over next Tuesday.  That way I will be on track.

Distance: 1.75 miles
Time: 31 minutes

Remember me?

Yeah, yeah, I know ... it's been a while.

If I said I was kidnapped by gypsies and forced to wear a 100-pound wedding dress, would you forgive me?

Seriously, though, I've just been lazy.  Supremely lazy.  I can't explain it, other than I just found excuse after excuse NOT to walk.

But I did complete a 5K at the end of June, for Cancer Research UK.  And that made me realize that I can, and will, get back in shape.

So today, as long as the weather holds out, I am headed to the track on base to start Week 1, Day 1 of the Couch-to-5K program.  I've done it before (didn't finish it last time--surprise, surprise) so I kind of know what to expect, but my mind is still reeling at the thought of running any amount of time or distance at this moment.  So, keep your fingers crossed that I don't psyche myself out.

I will let everyone know how it went.
